Firasat has over twelve years of experience in litigating, prosecuting, and counseling clients on intellectual property (IP) matters.  His litigation experiences include serving as trial counsel in several patent cases taken successfully to verdict both in Federal District Courts and before the U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC).  His prosecution and portfolio management experiences include preparing and prosecuting patents in a wide range of electrical, mechanical, and software technologies, managing portfolios and supervising attorneys on prosecution matters, advising both small and large clients on portfolio growth, and managing IP issues for two Motorola divisions.

Firasat also has a deep technical background.  His technical experience, gained through IP litigation/prosecution work and actual industry work, spans across a variety of industries and technologies.  His technical diversity along with the legal experiences gained at law firms, in-house, and at the ITC has allowed Firasat to provide well-rounded IP advice to various companies and become their eyes and ears for all IP purposes. Additionally, Firasat's unique mix of in-house and law firm experience and his unparallel insights into in-house functions and the interplay between in-house and outside counsel has proven to be extremely valuable to his clients, especially in situations where a deep understanding of company's business is necessary in developing appropriate legal theories.

In addition, Firasat has also worked on legal matters involving civil litigation, licensing, monetization of patents, IP due diligence for mergers & acquisitions and strategic investments, IP asset assessment and valuation, and taxation of IP.  He has also acted as primary counsel for companies and helped them with day-to-day corporate and IP issues.  Firasat frequently publishes and speaks on various IP topics.  Some of his engagements include University of California Berkley's Boalt Hall School of Law, India-based Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), and Motorola, Inc., where Firasat has taught several courses on topics relating to enforcement and thorough protection of intellectual property.
